Some important tips for Hair Weaves

We guarantee our hair is natural human hair, and it can hold up its pattern and take color easily with proper application. Please don’t expect it to be as perfect as our own hair which grows new strands and consumes nutrition from our scalp.
Hair extensions needs a lot of maintenance! and the most important note is any damage to extensions is irreversible, the only result is: tangling & matting, so please protect your investment and follow the below tips carefully.

1. Shedding: there are left over hairs on the weft that will show up with first shampoo or comb out; it is not real shedding. The weft was sealed before shipment to me. you can seal it again if you find it really sheds, but it should be done before installment.

2. Co-wash: you have to co-wash it after buying it, and apply leave-in conditioner on the hair to keep moisturized. In general, we usually shampoo & deep condition and apply Leave In Conditioner at time of sale and before we install for our clients.

3. Comb: always use a wide tooth comb; always comb or brush hair from the bottom - up, small sections at a time. For deep wave curly hair, please detangle it with leave in conditioner and/or shampoo & conditioner, don’t comb it after it is dry, otherwise that will cause tangling and matting. We sell the perfect weave comb for $3.

4. Heat: Heat is your hair's biggest enemy! The more you use on it, the shorter the life span of your hair. (Re-read those sentences!!) Our wavy and curly hair can be straightened and restyled. straight hair can also be curled. Please take your own risk to applying heat on it multiple times. Choose the hair pattern you want, and just buy that pattern directly. we don't advise that you change an existing pattern with heat or blow dryers; as both cause damage. any damage to extensions is irreversible, the only result is: tangling, shedding & matting!

5. Daily care: keep hair clean & moisturized!

6. Shampoo and condition it once or twice per week, spray moisturizer or leave in conditioner often and with each shampoo (especially for curly hair). Twist it or braid it before sleeping.

Please note curly hair always needs more maintenance than wavy or straight hair, please make sure you can maintain it before buying, or consultant with a professional stylist, if you are a first time user.

Please make sure follow the tips below:

1.Never use alcohol product which can dry the hair. Look for a good quality shampoo and conditioner which will add life to your extensions.

2.Never use a deep cleaning or clarifying shampoo on your hair extensions.
Wash the hair in one direction, from top to bottom. Avoid washing hair upside down in the sink. Use shampoos and conditioners that crème based for dry hair they add the most moisture. Detangler and Comb out before you shampoo or wet your hair.

3. Conditioning is an important part of caring for your hair. You should shampoo and condition at least once every five to ten days to keep the extensions looking their best. It’s also a good idea to mix water and a tiny bit of Moroccan oil or Moisturizing conditionerin the spray bottle and then spray the curly hair all over, it can prevent hair from becoming dry, and prevent it from tangling or matting. Do not use a lot of oil. Too much oil will cause tangling of your hair. Too much conditioner will cause product build up.

4.Wear a cap when swimming or keep your hair out of the water. Chlorine and salt water can cause the hair to tangle and mat up. It is recommended to wear you hair up or in a ponytail when you swim and exercise. (Sweating produces natural salt water)

5.Braid the hair or pin curl at night to prevent tangling. Take braids/curls down from bottom to top...and run fingers through, as you go.

6.Don’t do any chemical treatments by yourself, ask a hairstylist to do instead.

You can brush, curl, blow dry and wash our hair. You would care for the extensions the same way you would your natural hair. We do recommend that you shampoo your extensions at least once a week to avoid product build-up. Please do not shampoo your hair until you have combed through your hair carefully. If you do not comb out, it will tangle and mat.

How to shampoo weaves:

1. Shampoo and condition hair regularly. No clarifying shampoo. Use a moisturizing creamy shampoo (which is white in color).
Wash the hair in one direction, from top to bottom. Avoid washing hair upside down in the sink. Use shampoos and conditioners that crème based for dry hair they add the most moisture. (Remember a white color means moisture)

2. Detangle hair gently before shampooing. COMB OUT HAIR PRIOR TO SHAMPOO! Do not shampoo tangled hair. Do not rub or twist hair under the water. If your hair is 18" or longer, we recommend braiding the hair (loosely off the scalp and shampooing while braided.)

3. Before install, Add mild shampoo to cool water and swish hair up & down in water, until clean. Rinse thoroughly & always use a good moisturizing conditioner.

4. Blot out excess water with towel and allow hair to dry naturally. Do not expose to sun while wet. Hang hair on a skirt hanger to dry.

5. Comb curly hair gently with your fingers from end to top. Do not brush.

6. Brush straighter hair in a downward motion straight down to the ends. Work your way up to the weft/scalp. Start at the bottom tips of the hair.

7. Certain hair should not be brushed. Consult your hair stylist if in doubt.

8. Hair may get tangled if general care directions are not followed properly. It's best to have your hair shampoo'd by a professional stylist.
